UGLY

If Flash Gordon can’t hold ‘em,
we might as well fold ’em.
In spite of two homers by Chase,
Phils dropped further back in the race.
Beat writers to fans: “We told ‘em.”

July 25, 2006. Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Arizona – 6, Philadelphia – 5 (11 innings).
WP – Pena (1-0), LP – Franklin (1-5), BS – Gordon (3).
HR – Gonzalez (9), Quentin (3)
Utley – 2 (18).

THE SUNSHINE OF HOPE

Despair is a slippery slope,
it’s just that much harder to cope
with poorly thrown balls
and umpires’ bad calls,
much better the sunshine of hope.

Don't tell me: Max Blue is a dope.

The Phils are in dis-array
and can't put it together
not much you can say...
maybe a change in the weather...

The fans must be grumblin
as the team keeps a tumblin...
as night after night
nothing gos right...
