BERNERO TORCHED

We could only hope this triple A call up was skilled;
instead the poor guy almost got killed.
Eight runs in two innings blew up the score;
I’m telling you, guys, it could have been more.
Our cup of woe is now filled.

June 30, 2006. Skydome, Toronto, Canada.
Toronto – 8, Philadelphia – 1.
WP – Janssen (6-6). LP – Bernero (0-1).
HR – Overbay – 2 (14), Hinske (4)
Dellucci (5).

SPORADIC YANKEE JOURNAL:

MUSINA AND THE RELIEVERS DID THEIR BIT
SHUT THE METS OUT WITH JUST ONE HIT
BOSTONS WIMNNING STREAK ENDED QUIETLY
GIRARDI AND THE FISH DID IT LAST NIETLY

Into the Valley of Death rode Bernero...
His weapons were spheres he could throw...
To have him do this was criminal...
His chances of victory were minimal...
