Phillies Journal - 2006
by Max Blue
Here is the latest Philly wail:
we’re not used to seeing Chase Utley fail.
Without his big bat
the team’s flat as a mat.
And Brett Myers may soon be in jail.
June 24, 2006. Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts.
Boston – 5, Philadelphia – 3 (10 innings).
WP – Papelbon (2-1). LP – Gordon (2-3).
HR – Lowell (8), Ortiz (22).
Myers arrested for slugging his wife.

THERE WAS A LITTLE WIFEY WHO BE-CAME INVOLVED IN A LITTLE STRIFEY.
AS IF THE PHILS REALLY DIDN'T HAVE ENUF,
BIG BAD BRETT HAD TO STRUT HIS STUFF.
SEZ HE, PRIVATE ARGIUMENTS SHIOULD NOT BE AIRED FOR THE PUB-LIC TO SEE,
AS THE PHILLS WENT ON TO LOSE TO BOSTON FIVE TO THREE

Soon as he threw it
He knew it...
Shoulda walked him and Manny too
and took his chances against the next two...
Less chance of a wreck
'gainst Nixon and Veritek...
I just as well confess
It's lot of fun to second guess...
