Mazatlįn 5 Guasave 1

Pabloa Ortega gave the first game of series title to Maazatlan Vneados 5-1 off Guasave Cottoneers and Luis Carlos Rivera who just can`t get command of his pitches issuing 6 walks, and 2B Miguel Flores who went 3-3 with 2 ribbies were all Venados needed to support Ortegąs performance on 8 innings and allowing only 4 hits one of them a solo shot by SS Luis Borges, and fanning 6 Cottoneers.

It was a typical pitching game by both sides, having Venados hit only 6 hits but in the crucial moments, because after Rivera left the game, 4 more relief pitchers contained Mazatlan for another 2 more runs only, but the damage was done to Rivera already

Venados scored twice in the 2nd inning with two down after a error by SS Luis Borges, then strikes back again in the 4th innings when Rivera walked Miguel Flores, Edgar Gonzalez and Pedro Castellano , and when Miguel Ojeda was AB he committed a wild pitch, Edgar Gonzalez doubled home the 4th run and Ray Sadler imitated him in the 8th to sealed up the victory, for which closer Marty McLeary came in to zipped it up

This afternoon at 5 MT both teams will face once again, having Venados Walter Silva going to the mound, while Rudy Gonzalez will do the same for Guasave.

Silva beat Cottoneers twice in the regular season
