By Carlos Fragoso

Mazatlán 7 Navojoa 1 Hugo Castellanos 1 - 0 Humberto Montemayor 1 - 1
Hermosillo 3 Guasave 0 Spike Lundberg 4 – 0 Elmer Dessens 1 - 1

Hugo Castellanos usually a reliever, but a starter in LMB with Tijuana was the choice of manager Juan Jose Pacho for this clinching final series game and delivered a 2 hits game over 6.2 innings and Venados eliminated the Mayos 7-1

Th underdog team off all season leader resulted in not happy ending for Mario Mendoza and his team and in front of their people, who witnessed when Vneados attacked and scored once through a Heber Gomez home run , a powerful shot over the center field fence, followed by another soloshot by Miguel Ojeda.

However Venados put the game in the fridge scoring 3 more runs in the 7th mainly through a 2 ribbies double by Roberto Saucedo off reliever Mario Mendoza Jr. who came in rescue of Mauricio Lara whose base loaded throwing error brought one Vneados run

Scored twice in the 8th,through a WP by Scott Chiasson and the Miguel Ojeda singled home the 7th Venados run

Ray Sadler wner 2 -4 with 2 RBI`s

So now Mazatlan will relax and wait who the other finalist is between Guasave and Hermosillo

Guasave is worthless without Spike Lundberg whose comeback delivered a 3 -0 suht out win off Hermosillo so scout Mike Brito who has been blamed as the one accountable for taking Lundberg away from Cottoneers can return safely to Guasave without being booed by them

The hurler tossed a 6.1 innings, 4 hits and 7 KO work and defeated Elmer Dessens , meaning that he can make the job in major leagues, having supported in power hitting by Noe Muñoz and Demond Smith who homered against Dessens

Guasave bull pen were able to hold up Naranjeros harmless in the rest of the game, with J.J Jimenez and Dale Thayer who worked 2 innings to zipped things out

Now , they will face today back again, when Edgar Leyva meet Ken Ray for the decisive game
