Obregon Yaquis outdueled Culiacan Tomato Growers 3-2, with winner CARLOS ELIZALDE on the mound, plus the help of relievers Angel Moreno, hardtrhrower Oscar Bustillos and closer LEE GRONKIEWICZ who picked up his 3rd of the year.
RIGO BELTRAN , the loser leaving after 4.2 innings pitched and advers score of 1-0, reliever James Horgan AND Gaudencio Aguiree allowed the remaining 2 Yaquis runs.
In the fifth, JAVIER ROBLES homered off Beltran,and in the sixth, ALFRDO AMEZAGA doubled and scored with a RYAN SPILBOURG sac fly.
In the 8th CARLOS VALENCIA went deep off reliever Gaudencio Aguirre. And as for Culiacan RUBEN RIVERA got his 4th tripper of the year for the only run.
Anyway, Yaquis won . but lost series and now they will visit Mazatlan today to start series downthere.

If California Angels has their pitching sensation FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ, Los Mochis Cañeros claim for the same in the person of his homonimous, rookie sensation who continued to impress with another aoutstanding outing and silencing one of the most powerful teams in the league, Mexicali Eagles and beat them up 3-1.
He went 5 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run, and relievers EDGAR HUERTA and closer MARCUS GWYNN who got the save, aloowed only one more hit, the rest of the way.
ALEX CARRASCO sustained the duel, however he allowed 5 hits and 2losing runs in a 5.2 performance.

Navojoa Mayos, had to come from behind to beat Hermosillo 4.3, ending a 5 losing streak, as winner ISAURO PINEDA went 5.1 innings allowing only one run, but leaving the game in the 6th to MAURY LARA ,with bases loaded and Lara forced ANDY ABAD hit into a double play to end that threat, then Hansel Izquierdo and closer SCOTT CHIASSON, who picked his 5th of the year, completed the work.
For Navojoa, Obregonian SERGIO CONTRERAS drove all 4 runs in with a pair of doubles, included one in the 8 th inning, driving the 2 winning runs in the spikes of Kenny Kelly and Chris Walter. For Hermsillo, losing pitcher was JONATHAN CASTELLANOS who is not showing his good performance he delivered with Tijuana, or is it that this league is little too much harder?

And now , ladies and gentlemen here comes their majesty, Gasave Cottoneers who are now the new leader of the MexPac, beating and blasting Mazatlan 13 -1 with a powerful 11 hits offense and weak Mazatlan defense, took series off Deer team.
Winner , veteran LEO MORENO beat reliable starter PABLO OCHOA one of last Mazatlan heroes in getting the league championship, now failed for the second time in a row, and lost this game.
Guasave ambushed Ocha,scoring 6 runs in the game opener, part of that as as result of his lack of command, allowing 4 walks and 2 WP, but in the sixth, DAVE DOSTER with a Grand slam finished this big attag off Deer.
