Mex Pac honored MARIO MENDOZA JR as pitcher of the week and JUAN CARLOS CANELO CANIZALEZ as pkayer of the week, after performing well enough to gain this award, the first one winning 1 game and a no decision game versus Mazatlanand dropping his ERA to 1.80, and getting his daddy manager have confidence on him, up to the point that he become a starter as of this season, when he was mostly utilized a reliever,both in summer and winter leagues.
In the other hand, Canizalez went 26-11 in the week to raised his BA to .417 topping all batters. He is a former batting champion on this league.
Los Mochis rookie pitcher,FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ received an honorary mention when he won one game as a starter versus Culiacan., and shortly after getting his first win ever in MexPac in las October 19th.
Series continues today, when Obregon Yaquis will visit Culiacan, Guasave will host Mazatlan, likewise Mexicali to Mochis and finally Navojoa will host Hermosillo.
In stats, we have a new Batting leader in the name of JUAN CARLOS CANIZALEZ, who is batting .417, followed by Navojoasīs DOUG CLARK, .395, JAVIER ROBLES ( Yaquis) with .390 and Guasavesīs NOE MUŅOZ with .385 after 11 games played.
In the power department we have five players tied on top,with 4 each, BUBBA SMITH (Mexicali), RYAN SPILBORGH ( Yaquis), CALVIN PICKERING ( Mochis), LUIS ALFONSO CRUZ ( Navojoa) , LUIS ALFONSO GARCIA ( Hermosillo).
In the production department ,RBIīs , Culiacanīs RUBEN RIVERA leading all with 10 and tied up with Obregonīs CHRIS COSTE and JAVIER ROBLES.
In pitching, Guasavesīs EDGAR LEYVA is 0.00 in ERA after 11 innings pitched, followed by HUMBERTO MONTEMAYOR of Navojoa ( 0.87 ) , FRANK CAMPOS of Mazatlan (1.02).In saves ,Cottoneer DALE THAYER has 5, DAVE MANNING ( Mexicali) and SCOTT CHIASSON (Navojoa) in second plac with 4 each.
Campos also leads in SO, with 14, followed by SERGIO LIZARRAGA, BAUDEL ZAMBRANO and MARK DiFELICE WITH 12.
HUMBERTO MONTEMAYOR , MARIO MENDOZA JR. Both of Navojoa and SPIKE LUNDBERG of Guasave have 2-0 record each one.
Navojoa activated OF KENNY KELLY who spent this summer playing for 6 different teams including a brief stints in major leagues with Cincinnatti and Washington, ending up in triple A ball with New Orleans.
