By Carlos Fragoso

The 2005-2006 Mexican Pacific League season just started and brought up headlines to talk about, like the 3 Home runs game by Padres prospect SS, LUIS ALFONSO CRUZ, who did it in the opener in Navojoa playing the Obregon Yaquis, or the early return back to USA of Culiacan OF, TODD DONOVAN who was hit by a pitch of Mazatlan´s hurler PABLO ORTEGA, resulting in a broken bone in his left hand, and Dodgers wanted to be reviewed by their Doctor.
Last night in Obregon, in a record setting game, a total of 18 pitchers were in the game, 10 of them out of the host tema Yaquis, to beat caribbean champions Mazatlan, then still undefeated in this young season, and watching theis adoptive son ,Rangers prospect ADRIAN GONZALEZ smashing his first home run in this league, witnessed by his dad David and relatives.
It looked like ,Gonzalez waited to write personal history in his daddy´s hometown.

Veteran hurler, 44 years old JESUS "CHITO"RIOS, after a 4 years absence, returning to lead Culiacan Tomato Growers for a 8-2 win over Guasave Cottoneers.

Charlie " Bubba" Smith entered to history by smashing his 100th home run in the Mex Pac, the 12th player ever to accomplish that, in which the late HECTOR ESPINO leads all with 299 round trippers
