Play Off games often delivered such as emotional moments, filled up on adrenaline to both players and fans, also bring up good timing for player to excel, up to the point that without notice, and all of sudden they realized that they set up or tied new records, never imagined before, therefore write down their names into the record book, which is the case of the following new or tied records in play off series. (Source Mexican League).


30 / 7 / 05 in Monterrey,Roberto Ramírez (Red Devils) allowed 4 homers ( 2,4,6 7th innings) in the game to set a new record. Old record was 3 tied for 3 pitchers.

The same day, but in Tijuana, Adolfo Delfi pitching for Colts, committed 3 Wild Pitches against Mexico City, to tie this record, with Saltillo´s Pascaual Coco who did the same in July 7th ,2004 against Monterrey while playing in Saltillo.

31 / 7 / 05 in Saltillo, Aguascalientes Railroadmen pitcher Ricky Palma sets new record, fanning 6 consecutive Saraperos, 3 in the 1st inning ( Jose Muñoz, Jorge Valle and Jayson Bass), 3 more in the 2nd inning (Morgan Burkhart, Mario Valenzuela and Noe Muñoz).Previous record was 5.

3 / 08 / 05 in Monclova ,Tijuana´s pitcher Hugo Castellanos,sets new record hitting 4 batters in a game. Previous record was 2

¡JUEGO PERFECTO!

Oscar Rivera pitching for Yucatan Lions, pitched the first perfect game in play offs ,for a new record against Tabasco Olmecas.The place was Mérida´s Kukulkan Stadium and before a reported 14,000 fans.
The game laste 2 h ,28 m and those 27 outs were obtained as follows.

9 Strikeouts, 3 called ones,
6 grounders to SS
2 grounders to 3B
2 fly outs to 2B
1 grounder to 1B
2 fly outs to LF
3 fly outs to CF
2 fly outs to RF

10 / 08 / 05 in Merida, Tabasco´s pitcher Vinicio Gonzalez sets new record, by commiting 2 balks in one inning , previous was 1. Also a record was, that these two balks drove runs in to opponent team and also commited to the same batter ,Luis Borges.
To cmplete, and another record was that Gonzalez and reliever Fernando Desgue, set new record of most balks in a game with 3.

13 / 08 / 05 in Mexico City, Red Devils pitcher, Roberto Ramírez allowed 2 homer to Tijuana to get 9 in the play offs, and sets new previous one was 6, this same year by Tijuana´s Nate Bland.

13 / 08 / 05 ,in Villahermosa,Tabasco local pitcher Jose Vargas allowed 3 IBB in a game to set a new record.
He and Eddy Ramos combined to set another record by allowing 5 IBB in a game.

TEAM PITCHING

30 / 07 / 05 Tijuana pitching commited 4 WP in a game, Adolfo Delfín (3) and Nate Bland (1).
previous record was 3.

On same day, record for most WP in agame for two teams was set, with 6, when Monclova´s pitcher Bryan Ward committed 2 ,on top of the 4 by Colts pitching.previous record for two teams was 4.

3 /08 / 05,in Monclova, a new record for most HBP by a team (Tijuana), was set with 4
Also a record for most HBP by both teams was set, with 5, when Steelers pitching added one more to Tijuana´s 4.

10 /08 / 05 in Merida,Yucatan a new record for most Balks for a team was set by Olmecas, committing 3.
Also most IBB , with 5 was set by both teams.

14 / 08 / 05 in Villahermosa, a record for most pitchers used by a team was set, when Lions used as many as 9 pitchers in the game (Alfredo Aceves,Pedro Cámara, Alejandro Carrasco, Wilbert Ortega, Gary Espadas, Luis Navarro , Raúl Rodríguez,Eddy Ramos and José Vargas ).previous record was 8

INDIVIDUAL BATTING

2 / 08 / 05 in Oaxaca, Yucatan Lions Willie Romero scored 5 runs in the game to set a new record for most scored runs in a game, previous was, 4.

In the same day, same player tied the record for most hits in agame with 5,

10 / 08 / 05, Saltillo´s Eduardo Jimenez tied the record for most strikeouts in a game with 4.

13 / 08 / 05 Yucatan´s Oswaldo Morejón,tied the record for most AB with 6. (13 de agosto en Tabasco)

On same day, Tabasco´s Carlos Sievers,sets new record by receiving 3 IBB in a game.

14 /08 /05 Monterrey´s ,Luis Alfonso García hit his 8th home run of the post season to tied the record, with Andres Mora and Emile Brown who accomplished this last year with Campeche. (16 agosto en Puebla)
Same day, Tigers Adan Muloz also tied the record for most HR in a play off,by hitting his 8th, and since he will continue playing, chances are that he sets a new record.

TEAM BATTING

3 /08 / 05 , in Oaxaca both teams hit 3 home runs in one inning to tie the record, also tied the record for most HR´s hit in one game ,with 7.

14 /08 / 05, Tijuana hit 8 doubles in a game to set a new record, previous one was 6.
same day, both teams set new record for most doubles in a game , with 10.
Also a record for most extra bases by a team was set by Tijuana, when they got 13 ( 8 doubles, a triple and 4 home runs),versus Red Devils.
Both teams ,sets new record for most extra bases , with 16.

17/ 08 / 05 in Merida won and becomes the second team ever to come from a 0-3 deficit and win the series, only after the 1971 Jalisco Charros, under the late manager Ben Reyes, who beat Saltillo, tying the league´s record.

Veracruz Reds losing all of their 4 2005 play off games, becomes the longest ever losing streakers, with 12 in a row. ( 2000,2002 and 2005
