Mexico City Red Devils, Aguacalientes Railroadmen and Monclova Steelers were the nex teams to leave the competence for the 2005, when they both were eliminated yesterday by Monterrey Sultans, Saltillo Sarape Makers and Tijuana Colts, while Campeche and Yucatan forced a seventh game series tiebreaking when both defeated Tabasco and Oaxaca.Now the task is to define the two wild cards to continue on to the secon round of play offs, base on run average.

Saltillo 5 Aguascalientes 3 Jose Mercedes 1-1 Fernando Castañeda 0-1


Monterrey scored 5 runs inthe second inning off loser FRANCISCO CORDOVA, thanks to 2 ribbies singles by MARIO VALDEZ and DANIEL FORNES the two Obregonian players, and ISABEL GIRON tossed a solid game before becoming tired in the 7th, and led Sultans to beat Red Devils 6-4, and thus eliminating them for the second play offs.
Mexico City scored 4 times in the 7th , 2 after bases loaded walks to DANIEL FERNANDEZ and JOSE SANDOVAL to set the table for a two ribbies single by MANUEL VELEZ, and let MAURICIO LARA come in for Sultans and forced ROBERTO MENDEZ to a second base grounder and end the inning.
MAURICIO DE LA ROSA, closed that out for his second save in the play offs.
Mexico City might have a chance to fill in to the second round if they have better run average thatn Aguascalientes, who also has same record as they, 2-4.

Oaxaca outhit Yucatan to only two, but one of those was a walk off single by PEDRO CASTELLANO to end a pitching duel between winner EMILIANO RAMOS and loser HORACIO ESTRADA, by a score of 1-0 in one of the best games of this season, and with that Yucatan kept their hopes to win the series and become one of those continuing to the second round of play offs.

Campeche scoring 2 runs in the 4th and another 2 in the 5th , through a single by OSCAR RAMIREZ whose error in the 2nd cost Pirates 2 runs, were all what Campeche needed to beat Tabasco and forced a tie breaker for today, winning 6-3.
Relief pitcher ALBERTO MANRIQUE who comes in the 5th inning in resue of starter DANNY MAGEE, ,the winning pitcher, while starter VINICIO GONZALEZ the loser.
HECTOR PAEZ and rookie JUAN MANUEL BELTRAN homered for the Pirates cause.

Saltillo had to go 12 innings to defeat Aguascalientes Railroadmen 5-3 with JAYSON BASS and JUAN CARLOS ZAZUETA leading the pack with 2 ribbies and a home run each, in support to winning pitcher in relief, JOSE MERCEDES of loser FERNANDO CASTAÑEDA.

After all in the North Division, Tijuana, Monterrey and Saltillo get their tickets for the next play off round, while in the South Division, Tigers is the only one by now.

PLAY OFFS UPDATE

Mexico City Red Devils advanced to the second round play offs, as the North Division "lucky loser", beating Aguascalientes with a better run rate avegarge, 75.00 vs. 73.33.
This was a result of scored runs times 100 and divided by runs allowed.
In Yucatan, last night, Oaxaca´s losing pitcher HORACIO ESTRADA was tossing a no hit, in the bottom of the ninth when Eddy Diaz, got him first and then Pedro Castellano singled home the winning run for Lions to beat Warriors and Estrada
