Mexican Baseball Hall of Fame is growing, making more history by bringing in 5 new members to their recinct, located in Monterrey, bringing lots of reflections and memories wrote by those who were entrhonized yesterday as part of the 2005 promotion to this shrine of baseball.
How to forget the blazing velocity of former closer and major leaguer CY ACOSTA or the whilrwind breaking pitches from RALPH GARCIA, or the power shots out of a shorty but powerful guy such as ENRIQUE AGUILAR, fielding every grounder in 3B as well, or the 2 no-no´s thrown by our Big Unit, HERMINIO DOMINGUEZ and finally the dedication and vision of baseball executive and former Jalisco Charros Owner, Dr. ALVARO LEBRIJA who did not assist, because his bad health conditions stopped him.
Charros who wrote one of the most amazing history of Mexican Baseball, by winning the championship series in 1971 to Saltillo Sarape Makers, being down in series 0-3, and led by the magic stick of the great BEN REYES, won the title in 4 consecutive games, a dinasty club he created back in 1965 in a team that included, ELROD HENDRICKS now the Orioles bull pen catcher, MINNIE MINOSO, rookie AURELIO RODRIGUEZ , MINNIE ROJAS who later starred with Anaheim, and the also rookie BEN REYES.
A team who endured up to the 1980 season, featuring players such as, JORGE RUBIO, who briefly pitched with Anaheim in the mid 60´s, former Pittsburg reliever, ENRIQUE ROMO, also former reliever,Atlanta´s MAX LEON, CY ACOSTA, WINSTON LLENAS, former White Sox IF, RUDY HERNANDEZ, ERNESTO CORDOBA who is Francisco Cordoba´s father, FRANCISCO GARCIA ( Karim Garcia´s dad), BILL PARLIER a power hitter , who terrorized California League in the mid 60´s, JORGE ORTA,TED SAVAGE, JACK PIERCE , LAMBERT FORD , JIM BREAZEALE , Panamanian and former San Diego Padre, IVAN MURRELL and many more brought in to paly by Dr. Lebrija , and making mexican baseball fans enjoyed those years.

The Los Angeles California, native is one of the most consistant pitchers ever to played here, threw 2 no hitters in each league and holds some records as well.

15 Seasons , 3.17 in 1245 IP , 682 SO

Threw 2 no hitters including one perfect game in 1985

ENRIQUE AGUILAR 3B :

24 Seasons .302 , 1496 RBI , 305 HR Mexican League
Played only 8 Seasons in the Mexican Pacific, holds a record for most HR´s in a game with 3, set in 1983.

MEXICAN LEAGUE BITS:

As final series continues, getting closer to the end of the calendar and with only 7 games left, Tijuana Colts are withholding the league´s top position, and the only team allowed to begin selling tickets to play offs.

Hurricane Emily, forced a lot of games to be postponed, mainly in Campeche, Monclova,Oaxaca and Monterrey who become severely flooded after hitting the city yesterday.

In Cancun in a rarity history, lobstermen lost two games against Puebla, after being forfeited for nOT PRESENTING OFFICIAL BASE BALLS, a uncommon and strange case, never seen before here.

JAVIER ROBLES the Tigers short stop, is leading the league in hitting with .386, followed by CARLOS GASTELUM and WILLIS OTAÑEZ with .381.

ROBERTO SAUCEDO (MX) leading in HR´s with 32, followed by JORGE VAZQUEZ (Tigers), CARLOS VALENCIA ( TIJ) and JULIAN YAN ( TABASCO9 with 31.

In RBI´s, WILLIS OTAÑEZ has 115, while FELIX JOSE (108) and SAUCEDO (106) follows him.
