RAMON MARTINEZ

Phils went to the end of the bench
to stay out of the last place trench.
Martinez the game winning hit
after a hot and sweaty 12 inning sit.
For the Nats another monkey wrench.

July 10, 2005. Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, PA.
Philadelphia – 5, Washington – 4 (12 innings)

Phils 0-36 when trailing after six. Not today. Ryan Howard
tied it in the eighth with a two-run centerfield blow.

Ending the first half with a win
Gives hope and zip to begin again.
The second half could be a snap
With new guys like Howard to fill the gap...
