HELPLESS IN SEATTLE

Our team put up a pale battle,
A pushover for the team from Seattle.
Gil Meche pitched like an allstar,
Jon Lieber was right about par.
Wake up, bats! Time to rattle.

June 14, 2005. Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington.
Seattle – 3, Philadelphia – 1.

The M's thank the Phils for a breather last night,
Since the Nats gave the M's such fits and such fright.
Mariner batters have kept us all bored,
So it takes a three-hitter for wins to be scored.

No bad hopes for Phils fans...it's been quite a while,
Anyone but Atlanta gives us all a smile.
May the Phillies relieve us of all our Brave sorrows,
Just don't start until you leave Safeco tomorrow.

Sufferin' from the lag of the jet
the boys need some prime time to get...
The arms and the bats by beg steal or borrow
and yell at the crowd...just wait 'till tomorrow !!!
