RONTREZ JOHNSON (Aguascalientes) was awarded with the MVP trophy in a game thet filled up his dreams of leading his all star teammates going 5-3 with 2 homers and 2 ribbies to support the North Divisioners to beat Southerns ones 10-9.
He tied the record for this games, in this 73rd edition of the Mexican League All Stars Game before 12,000 attendance.
ROBERTO SAUCEDO (Mexico City) and MARIO VALENZUELA (Saltillo) added round trippers to help up Johnson and winner RIGO BELTRAN (Saltillo), who went on inning with 1 hit and no runs.His counterpart and loser FRANCISCO CAMPOS (Campeche) went also 1 inning,but allowing 3 runs with 3 hits, followed by ERIC KNOTT (Puebla) allowing 1 run, JUAN MANUEL PALAFOX (Yucatan) and JOEL VARGAS (Tabasco)) who both allowed 3 runs each.
MAXIMO DE LA ROSA (Monterrey) come in the 9th to zippered things up, and picked up the save.
For the South All Stars, JORGE VAZQUEZ (Tigers) and RUBEN RIVERA (Campeche) homered, among the 16 hits attack delivered by them, having in Rivera their main contributor with 3.
As per the Northern stars,DARRYL BRINKLEY ( San Luis) went 3-3.

OLD TIMERS ALL STAR GAME

Parrots beat Tigers in the Old Timers game by 8-2, counting on the hiiting from JESUS SOMMERS the league´s all time hit record holder, who drove two runs with a double, follwed by another 2 ribbies single by PAQUIN ESTRADA (Current Campeche Skipper) and the pitching of winner GERMAN JIMENEZ who once pitched in the big leagues wiith Atlanta in the early 90´s, while JOSE PEÑA a reliever with Cincinnatti and Dodgers took the loss.

HOME RUN DERBY

BILL SELBY (Campeche) get crowned as the new HR derby king beating, WILLIS OTAÑEZ (Veracruz) in the final round 9-6.
Selby qualified to the semifinal round along with ROBERTO SAUCEDO (Mexico City) and JORGE VAZQUEZ ( Tigers).
