WINNING UGLY

When you’re up against the best,
Your game must face the test.
Five errors the Phillies made,
But somehow a win in the trade,
And so we continue the quest.

May 17, 2005. The Bank.
Philadelphia – 7, St. Louis – 5.

Homers by Abreu ( 8 in 9 games, and a near miss in the other), Burrell, and Ryan Howard (his first). Corey Lidle once again pitched well.

A birthday gift for Max,
You can't ignore the facts,
That the boys have won two in a row,
And that's the way to go...
Only 4 below the even mark,
As Bobby hits 'em out of the park...
Max takes his baseball seriously,
As he plays the game vicariously..
With every hit and every toss,
He'll soon show who's the boss...

Happy Birthday Max !!!
