Phillies Journal - 2005
by Max Blue
Abreu’s homer gave us the lead.
It was then that we started to bleed.
Corey Lidle was great,
But couldn’t get through eight.
We’re lacking the spark that we need.
May 11, 2005. Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Milwaukee – 5, Philadelphia – 2.
Abreu has homered in four consecutive games, three of them losses.

We go bumping along
Sometimes weak and sometimes strong
A streak is needed but goes unheeded
With a loss and a win, then a win and a loss
We're trading water with every toss and swing
Of the batbut where's it at ?
That magical something that seperates
And gives us control over the fates
With 5 of our heros under .250
Its hard to conceive of a scene so nifty
That would bring is back to the head of the pack...
So rack 'em up again in the other alley
Maybe the boys can start a rally
That starts a streak in a positive manner
And give us a chance to win the big banner...
