Tim Hudson struggled through and swung his way to a 4-2 victory over the Florida Marlins. By Trent Harrison

Although he will be the first to admit to having better mound performances, Tim Hudson showed some grit and poise in getting through his first National League start for the Atlanta Braves Thursday. Hudson numbers were moderate at best( 5 in., 6H, 1ER, 4BB, 2K) but helped his cause by plating his first RBI for his new team with a single, while Brain Jordan collected two hits. Marlins starter A.J. Burnett fared well against the Braves righty by going six innings( 7H, 2ER, 2BB, 6K), but fielding troubles and a lack of offense ended up giving Burnett his first loss. Alex Gonzalez did homer off Huddy, but little more was heard from the Marlins bats. Coming up this weekend for these two clubs will have the NY Mets in town to play Atlanta while the 2-1 Washington Nationals travel down to Florida.
