The 2005 season of Mexican Leage just opened, with reciprocal visits games, that just started this past week end, actually in Saturday March 20th,and found the Mexico City Red Devils playing with mexican players only, on top of the standing and undefeated 2-0, by beating the debuting Tijuana Potros first here in Mexico City 13-4 and yesterday at Tijuana 10-4.
The red team looked good, batting wise, when DH ROBERTO SAUCEDO , a clean up hitter smashed a grand slam to lead the devils to an early game advantage 4-0 in the opener.
He was then followed by another round trippers by ROBERTO MENDEZ and RAY MARTINEZ.
Wining pitcher and starter was former Pittsburgh Pirate and San Diego Padres hurler, ROBERTO RAMIREZ, so in other words it was an "All Roberto´s Game".
Tijuana starter, FRANCISCO GONZALEZ took the lost in just a 0.1 inning work.
For Tijuana, RANDALL SIMON drove in 2 runs, as well as former Padre, OF ERIC OWENS.

As per yesterday´s game at newly named Calimax Stadium in Tijuana, Devils striked onced again, with winning pitcher CLAUDIO MORENO on the mound ,losing ALONSO BELTRAN for Potros
Catcher SAUL SOTO a former Dodgers farmhand, provided all the support with a 3RBI home run and he added another 2 with RBI single.
ERIC OWENS homered for Tijuana with two men on.

Campeche Pirates, also struck twice, by beating Tabasco Olmecas 4-2 in the first game and 2-1 in the second game.
Mets returnee FRANCISCO CAMPOS, came in time to pitch and win this game, going 5 innings and allowing just 1 hit, and fanning 5 opponents.
Campeche´s LF FLAVIO ROMERO ,the heroe in both games with GW home runs.

In a city broterhood series, Puebla Tigers and Parrotts splitted victories, having Parrotts take the first game 10-7 and Tigers on the second. 11-2.
CHUCK KNOTT the winner in the first, while PABLO ORTEGA one of the last Caribbean Series heroes,took the lost.
For the second,JESUS OLAGUE picked up the victory,while veteran LHP RAVELO MANZANILLO, the loser.
Veteran OF, MATIAS CARRILLO, who once played in major leagues with Florida, went 5-4 with 5 RBI´s including a HR.

Saltillo and Monterrey also splitted victories, with Sarape Makers winning the first game 7-3 counting on a solid pitching performance by STEVE BOURGEOIS, while ISAURO PINEDA lost for Sultans.
In the second game, Monterrey took revenge by winning 4-3 with winner PABLO OCHOA a former Mets farmhand, and BILL SAIPE taking the lost.

Veracruz Eagles took on Oaxaca 10-5 in the first, with ageless veteran ANGEL MORENO in the mound, and OSWALDO MAIRENA the loser for OAXACA.
Oaxaca Warrioors ,won the second game 8-5.

Monclova Steelers and Laguna Cowboys, shared victories, with Monclova winning first 3-2.
For Laguna starting pitcher, ORLANDO "EL DUQUECITO HERNANDEZ" went 5 inning and have no decision.
Laguna, won the second game14-7.

Aguascalientes Railmen, blasted San Luis Potosi 10-6, supported in a furious offensive by BOBBY "THE ANIMAL" LARA who went 5-4 , with 6 RBI´s and a home run included, to lead his team to the victory.
In the second game, San Luis Potosi won in retaliation to previous one by a score of 3-1, GABE MOLINA in relief of 2.1 inning, the winner.

Yucatan Lions beat Cancun Lobstermen 8-3, led by OF JUAN CARLOS CANIZALES who smashed two HR´s, and drove in 4 runs in support to winning pitcher WAYNE GOMES.
In second game, Cancun got the game over Lions, 5-2 to ties this short opening series.

Regular Season will continue, tomorrow.
