After an emotional opening ceremonies, in which several Winter greats were enthronized to Caribbean Hall of Fame, such as Rod Carew, Willie Mays, Juan Navarrete, umpires Armado Rodriguez a Cuban who also was an American League umpire, local Victor Saiz who umpired in 18 caribbean series, as well as former President of the Mex Pac league, the late Horacio Lopez Diaz, host team Mazatlan led by the hand of Frank "K´s" Campos, who allowed only 3 singles, 1 BB and 10 K´s along 8 innings and closer Luis Ayala came in to close doors at 9th, were all what the Deer team needed to beat Aragua Tigers, Venezuelan representative 4-0.
Jose Castillo, Michael Sandoval and Alex Cabrera had the only hits for Venezuela.

Mazatlan scored 1 run in the first thanks to an RBI single by Vinny Castilla who drove in another run in the 3rd as well as Erubiel Durazo, has and RBI single all off starter Horacio Estrada, the reliever Danny Medina came in relief facing 7 batters and fanning six of them, for a sensational work, Tim McClaskey finished.
2B Miguel Flores and DH Erubiel Durazo collected two hits apiece.

Dominican team, Cibao did not play against Puerto Rico because they had traveling problems to get here on time for the game, and they both will be playing a double header on Friday.
Today, DR will play Venezuela and Puerto Rico (Bill Pulsipher) will play Mexico (Elmer Dessens)
