Obregon Yaquis swept Hermosillo twice in a row, and next series against Culiacan Tomato Growers will be the deciding one on who´s this second half leader, because as of now, they both the league with a 12-6 record.

Cuban pitcher OSVALDO FERNANDEZ, signed with Yaquis to be used as long reliever and taking ALLAN SIMPSON spot in the roster.

Venezuelan PEDRO CASTELLANO, was named player of the week after hitting over .400,with Navojoa

CRAIG DINGMAN signed with Culiacan adding punch to relief pitching .

RICK De HART, released earlier by Mexicali has signed with Guasave Cottoneers, as well as Colombian IF CARLOS VILLALOBOS ,who replaces Japanese pitchers TETSU YOFU and YUSAKU IRIKI, who left the team without consent, and were suspended.
They maybe missed Sake and Sushi combo in this holidays and headed back to Japan.

LUIS CARLOS GARCIA, had a hot series against Hermosillo, his hometown and in last game hit a HR off big leaguer JORGE DE LA ROSA, and drove in 3 runs for Yaquis, it looks like he is coming back from the slump he was.

TIJUANA POTROS, were accepted to return to the Mexican League,during the Anaheim Winter Meetings, after they passed through all requirements needed to be filled up.
They purchased the Owls of the Two Laredos franchise, thanks to the support that State and City Authorities gave to a local businessmen group headed by Basilio Cabrera and David Gonzalez, father of Rangers prospect Adrian Gonzalez and now a National's property (took in Rule v Draft), 3B Edgar Gonzalez.
Tijuana have with these gentlemen, a people who loves the game, and will surely succeed in this venture.
