Obregon Yaquis and Los Mochis Sugarcane Growers,swept Navojoa and Hermosillo respectively to tied up for the second half lead.
In Navojoa, Yaquis showing an agressive baseball defeated Navojoas Mayos in a double header by scores of 5-4 in the first game and 8-3 in the second one.
Reliever Adrian Ramirez took the win (3-0) while also reliever Mauricio Tequida (Dodgers) the loser (3-1).
Ariel Prieto started by Yaquis and could not go through to get his 8th win of the sesaon.
Andy Tracy who continues hot, hit his 15th home run , and closer Allan Simpson picked up his 11th save.
For the second game, Tracy strikes back with his 16th four bagger a leader in this season and helped the Yaquis and pitcher Osvaldo Verdugo to win this important game.Chris Coste who is a Phillies non roster invitee to 2005 spring training, hit his 11th HR of the year.
For Navojoa,Hansel Izquierdo the losing pitcher and he is now 1-1.

In Los Mochis, the local team completed the sweep by beating Hermosillo and Elmer Dessens 5-1, supported by a Roberto Mendez Home Run and a solid pitching performance by Steve Smyth.
Dessens went 4 innings with 9 hits, 4 runs all earned and 4 K's.
Smyth, went 6 innings with 7 hits and only 1 run, to pick up his 4 win with 4 losses.

In Mazatlan, by splitting victories with Culiacan, the Tomato Grower took the series home, winning th first game of this DH, 5-4 and losing the second against Deer team by a 8-0 shutout.
Diamondbacks prospect Sergio Lizarraga (El Paso), continued to impress with a solid toosing game, going 6 innings with 9 hits and 3 runs and pick up his 7th win of the season with 3 losses. Closer Marc Kroon went the 7th to get his 18th save of the season.Pablo Ortega lost for Mazatlan and he is now 6-4.
For the second game,Francisco Campos beats Jason Scobie, tossing a 2 hits game in 6 innings work, and with the help of Tim Olson´s homerun (4), led the Deers to a 8-0 win.

Guasave and Mexicali DH suspended by rain.

STATS

Obregon leads both,in team batting and team pitching
Noe Muñoz with a minimum difference over Javier Robles is still leading in batting,.388 vs. .387.
Andy Tracy leads in HR´s with 16 followed by Adan Muñoz. 15
Morgan Burkhart in RBI´s with 45, Robles in second has 43 also leads in most hits (63) and doubles (17).

In pitching, no question Culiacan´s JORGE CAMPILLO has it all, 9-0 record and 1.23 ERA ,followed by Obregon´s Ariel Prieto with 7-0 and 2.43.
Marc Kroon leader in saves with 18, while SERGIO LIZARRAGA becomes the new K leader with 54.

MARC KROON tied a team record with his 18th save, shared by the late Antonio Pulido (83-84) and Mike Browning (91-92).

Culiacan has 86 HR's in the season, 18 shy of the league´s record of 104, hold by Los Mochis

Panamanian RUBEN RIVERA had two HR´s last saturday against Deers.

Mexicali's players, BUBBA SMITH (14) and JONNY GOMES (7), got a couple of those against Tetsu Yofu and the Cottoneers,last Saturday.

ANDY TRACY had hit 7 HR´s in his last 10 games

JAVIER ROBLES,DONZELL McDONALD and CHRIS COSTE has improved their average hitting well above .400 in the last 5 games.

JORGE CANTU is back on tracks now, and by hitting .412 in his last 5 games ,he returned to the .300 mark

SS, OSCAR RAMIREZ of Culiacan who is filling up Benji´s Gil spot at position is one of the hottest hitter over the last 10 games in which his batting average improved sustantially, and he is now close to .300.

DAVE DOSTER and IKER FRANCO,continued hitting hot in their last 10 games for Hermosillo, who continues struggling despite of the fact that is a team plagued of starts but no there is no sunshine..

Japanese pitcher YUSAKU IRIKI, made his debut on Dec, 2nd against Navojoa, and went 1 inning in relief (8th), striking out the side.Mario Valenzuela, Francisco Salas and Pedro Iturbe , were the victims.


VINNY CASTILLA will report to Hermosillo this coming week end and said that he can be ready to play on Dec. 14th.

JACOB CRUZ, the Cincinnatti Reds, OF is ready to play for Mexicali, replacing 3B ALEX PELAEZ

BRYANT NELSON will likely start to play this week for Hermosillo replacing DAN JOHNSON

LUIS AYALA (Washington),will be activated this week also for Culiacan
