TWILIGHT ZONE
Three years ago on this 9-11 day
New York’s World Trade Center was blown away.
After nine innings today each team had 9 runs, 11 hits.
These numbers are tests of our wits.
In 13 the Phils win 11-9. I don’t know what to say.
Saturday, September 11, 2004. Shea Stadium, New York.
Philadelphia – 11, Mets – 9. (13 innings)

That happenstance could be so exact
God gave a wink
To remind us of the fact
That eternal vigilance is a way of life
To remove the threat of awful strife...
Meanwhile the Fightins showed 'em
That arms who file by one by one
May be the way to get things done...
