All time record for saves is 200 hold by Isidro " Sid" Marquez, former White Sox reliever, and most saves in a season record is 41, shared by Luis Ayala, current Expos closer, and Jose Juan Lopez set in 1999 and 2001 respectively.

On Santos Hernandez, saves record, he had his 16th save in a row , to brake the Leagues record, a 31 years old RHP, with 7 seasons in Mexican Legaue and some experience in A, AA and AAA ball in USA,mainly with Giants organization, had some stint trying to get the majors with Devil Rays, appearing in spring training games,is in his best shape,I would add , he is sharpened, to deserve another opportunity, as closer.
His weapon , a low 90 sinking fastball, and a cutter, make him almost unbeatable, he mastered these pitches, to become a nasty relief pitcher to batters.
