Mexican League News by Carlos Fragoso
Mexican league is passing through their 3rd week of playing and find a close race in the two divisions, having the surprising Puebla Parrots and Tabasco Olmecas, leading their respective divisions with almost identical record of 17-5 and 17-6 respectively.
At the beginning of the season, these two teams were considered the underdogs ,because they have no big names on their rosters.

MEXICAN LEAGUE
Aguascalientes - Optioned Amador Rodriguez, Ildefonso Lara, and Julio Reyes from Laguna. Optioned Alonso Tellez to Laguna. Activated Alejandro Rios. Deactivated Alfredo Saenz.
Cancun - Traded Juan Terrazas and Enoc Rodriguez to Aguascalientes for Ignacio Montano and Gilberto Lopez.
San Luis Potosi - Activated Remigio Diaz (IF), Enrique Martinez (P), and Ramon Garcia (P). Deactivated Sergio Carmona, Omar Mendoza, and Jose Cobos.
Tijuana - Activated Jose Sanchez (IF/P) and Guillermo Carrillo (P). Deactivated Sabino Loaiza (Injured).
HIGHLIGHTS.
Veteran RHP Jesus “Chito” Rios, who had pitched for as long as 20 seasons in the Mexican league, and had a brief spring training appearances with the Phillies in late 80´s, become the new KO´s all time king, by fanning 6 in his first season game, and breaking Ramon Arano´s record of 2380.
In another record related issue, former Boston Red Sox outfielder, Dominican Izzy Alcantara, tied Hector Espino´s, record of most HR´s in most consecutive games, 6, by hitting 8 HR´s, from March 19 to March 24 of this year ,Espino did it back in 1969, fro May 15 to May19, double headers included.
Alcantar is current league´s leader in HR, with 10, followed by Morgan Burkhart (Saltillo) and Raul Rodarte (San Luis Potosi) both with 8 round trippers.
