Former Dodger Infielder Will Try to Rekindle 1995 Magic
According to Sports Nippon, ex-New York Mets and Texas Rangers skipper Bobby Valentine will sign with the Chiba Lotte Marines for a total of 700 million yen (about $6.5 million) over three years. Minor details of the deal are still being worked out.
Valentine's first move should be to contact ace Tomohiro Kuroki and have him MRI'd Today. Kuroki has been Mickey Moused around about his shoulder injury. If he needs surgery, Kuroki should be ordered to have it ASAP. His recovery will be key to Lotte's 2004 campaign.
Lotte just finished their schedule earlier today, having not had a winning record since Valentine's tenure in 1995. He replaces now former manager Koji Yamamoto.
