Taiwan Baseball News: Huang Launches Bullish Shot

Both starters matched each other pitch-for-pitch - in a bad way - last night as the Sinon Bulls and the Makoto Gida played to a 4-4 tie at Taichung Stadium before 1,125 fans.
Bulls starter Wen-pin Hsu surrendered four earned runs on six hits and four walks in just 4 2/3 innings while Gida starter Shad Williams also gave up four earned runs on nine hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings of work. Two of Williams' runs came on a two-run home run by Bulls second baseman Chang-yi Huang, his fifth of the 2003 Chinese Professional Baseball League season. For that shot, Huang was named the Game's MVP.
Yun-chih Kuo followed Williams with three innings of shutout relief, scattering just two hits while walking one and striking out a remarkable seven batters. Ramon Morel pitched 1 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball after Kuo to preserve the tie.
Other Bulls performances included right fielder Jia-hao Chang's 3-for-3 night with included two walks and one RBI. Third baseman Tai-shan Chang went 2-for-5 with a run scored and one RBI while left fielder Song-yong Luo finished the evening 2-for-4 with a run plated.
For the Gida, right fielder Cheng-han Wu went 1-for-2 with three walks and one run scored while left fielder Chan-rong Chiou finished the evening 1-for-3 with one run batted in.
The Bulls will visit the Gida again tonight at Taichung Stadium to continue their series (6:35 p.m., Taiwan time).
