Taiwan Baseball News: Elephants and Agan Play To A Good Tie

Brother Elephants 3 First Securities Agan 3 (10 innings)
The Brother Elephants and First Securities Agan played to a 3-3 tie at Kaoshung Stadium last night in front of 3,063 fans.
The Elephants got off to an early 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning before the Agan took the lead with two runs in the bottom half of the fifth and one in the sixth. The Elephants scored two in the seventh to draw the game.
Japanese native Shin Nakagomi started for the Elephants and surrendered three runs, two of them earned, on six hits and three walks in 7 1/3 innings of work. Gomez Martinez then came in with 2 2/3 shutout innings before the game was called after the completion of the tenth frame.
Claudio Galva gave up one unearned run on three hits, three walks and two errors in six innings in his start for the Agan. Wen-hsiung Hsu then came on in relief and proceeded to surrender two runs, both earned, on two hits and three walks in 1 2/3 innings. Feng-hua Lee pitched 2 1/3 shutout innings after that and was named the Game's MVP.
Monday night's game between the Elephants and Agan was postponed and will be played on August 23 at Kaoshung Stadium (2 p.m., Taiwan time).
