Taiwan Baseball News: Whales Douse Fiery Gida

China Trust Whales 8 Makoto Gida 2
The Makoto Gida should be fiery after this one as the China Trust Whales routed them 8-2 last night at Kaoshung Stadium in front of just 897 fans.
The team with a fiery orange character as its logo were leading 1-0 when the Whales put up a four-spot in the top half of the fifth inning. The winners then added one each in the sixth and seventh and finally two in the ninth.
Game MVP left fielder Chi-fong Hung led the Whales as he went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double and three RBIs. Second baseman Yueh-liang Lin finished the evening 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored while third baseman Chien-wei Chen went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs plated.
Cheng-hsun Hsieh (6-4-1) picked up the win for the Whales as he surrendered two runs, both earned, on seven hits and three walks in seven innings. He struck out four batters.
The Gida got a 2-for-3 performance from newcomer Jose Caballero while left fielder Chan-rong Chiou went 2-for-4 with a run batted in.
