Taiwan Baseball News: Whales Swallow Galva and Agan

China Trust Whales 5 First Securities Agan 4
Designated hitter Chi-fong Hung went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, one run scored and two RBIs as the China Trust Whales squeezed past the First Securities Agan 5-4 last night before 1,053 fans at Kaoshung Stadium.
Hung was named the Game's MVP but his teammates also came through in the clutch. First baseman Tsung-hui Tung went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and two runs plated as the Whales swallowed Agan starter Claudio Galva (0-3-1) for five earned runs on seven hits and four walks in seven innings.
Japanese native Hiroaki Nakayama (10-3-0) surrendered three runs, two of them earned, on eight hits in seven frames to pick up the win for the Whales. He struck out six and walked none. Dominican native Maximo Rosa gave up an earned run but managed to pick up his fourth save of the 2003 Chinese Professional Baseball League season.
For the Agan, right fielder Jun-hsiung Lu finished the evening 2-for-5 with a double and one run scored while left fielder Kai-fa Chen finished at 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and another driven in. Designated hitter Chung-wei Pang went 2-for-5 with a two-bagger and two RBIs. First baseman Hung-jeh Tsai also stung the ball hard as he went 2-for-4 with a double.
