Brother Elephants 6 First Securities Agan 0

Aces always bounce back. American native Jonathan Hurst bounced back from a rough outing last week as he blanked the First Securities Agan to help the Brother Elephants win 6-0 last night before 6,085 onlookers at Kaoshung Stadium.

But matching him pitch by pitch was Agan starter Rue-hao Liang and thus the game was tied 0-0 heading into the 10th inning of play.

The Elephants rallied off six runs in that inning off of Agan relievers Wen-hsiung Hsu (2-6-1) and Feng-hua Lee as short stop Rue-chang Chen went 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI and center fielder Chih-yuen Chen finished 1-for-5 with one run plated and one run driven in. Hsu gave up three runs, two earned, in 1 2/3 innings while his counterpart Lee surrendered the same amount in 1/3 of an inning.

Liang picked up a no-decision as he gave up two hits and no runs in 7 1/3 innings. Hurst got the win to improve to 2-2-0 as he shutout the Agan while only scattering five hits in nine innings. Ruen-win Hsiao closed out the 10th for the Elephants.

With the win, the Elephants improved to 13-16-1 while the Agan dropped to 6-22-1 with the loss.
