I am grateful for Craig Tomarkin to allow me to help out with this page.
Gary Garland provided extensive information, photos, and insights into Nihon Yakyu. Hopefully I can help piece things together until Gary returns to this page. Any assisstance will be appreciated.

My name is Robert Kiyoshi Shadlow. I was born in Japan to a Nihonjin Mom and Gaijin Dad. Baseball was one of the bridges in my adjustment to my culture shock when I moved to the USA at the age of five.

On June 22, 1969, I saw my first pro baseball game at Sick's Stadium in Seattle. I saw Seattle Pilots Tommy Harper steal a base against the Kansas City Royals (which included Lou Piniella).
Since then, I have attended numerous Tacoma AAA and Seattle Mariners games. I have seen pro games in Anaheim, San Francisco, Vancouver, Portland, Everett, and Mission Viejo.

One of the highlights of my baseball life was to see games at Jingu Stadium, Seibu Stadium, and the TokyoDome in 1995. I was grateful for my friends to invite me and my friend Jeff Alcorn to sit with Masunori Murakami at Jingu. We enjoyed the Swallows trumping of Kyojin that night.

I wrote a brief NPB newsletter in 1988. My Nippon Pro Baseball interests have extended to the Korean Baseball Organization, Chinese Professional Baseball League (Taiwan), Taiwan Major League, and other pro baseball leagues outside the United States. I also collect international baseball cards.
