The Effect of the Japan Opener Cancellation

There will now be some changes for the sake of player security in the wake of MLB's decision to cancel Opening Day in Japan. So here are:

The Top Ten Security Improvements Enacted by Commissioner Bud Selig (in Conjunction with the Players' Union):

10) Background of MLB logo will go from red, white, and blue to yellow.

09) To avoid the possibility of terrorism incidents during games, they will all be played on computers using video game software.

08. Players will wear civilan clothes on the field so that terrorists can't tell the players from the fans.

07. The MLB motto will be: "baseball fever: it's not caused by biochemical weapons."

06. Autograph shows will now be all internet order only.

05. Players will no longer be shuttled back and forth from the ballpark in a bus, but in an armored personnel carrier.

04. Former Rangers owner G.W. Bush will allow players to use his government bunker in the offseason.

03. New at team stores: autographed flack jackets!

02. Each player will have his own human shield to stand in front of him during games.

01. MLB will now stand for "Major Lack of Balls."

MSNBC: MLB Japan Opener Should Go On

What is somewhat ironic about this is that MSNBC wants this war REAL bad, as if they were a bunch of minor league William Randolphy Hearsts. See story at: MSNBC Article

Selig Shakes Down Dominican Republic for Stadium Improvements

So let me see if I get this straight: MLB demanded that in a country where they have open sewers in the streets, that nation is supposed to forkout $10 million for a ballpark. Yeah, that's a wise use of a poor country's funds. See story at:

Get a grip Guru. Not everything can go your way. Believe it or not, MLB players are better than you and they are better than me. They demand quality stadiums to play in, a safe environment to play in, and lots of cash for their troubles. It's unfortunate that you will side against Bud and the MLBPA on all occasions. Is this due to some childhood abuse story like your mom was a diehard Cub fan or is there something else. It wouldn't hurt for you to take a look at the player's side of things. It's true that these "boys" are spoiled and get everything they want, but that is because they can. But for you to sit behind your laptop and call them "yellow" is just too ironic.
Take for example your take on MLB demanding the Dominican Republic forkout $10 million dollars for improvements to their stadium. It is the Dominicans that are trying to get MLB down there and not the other way around. Thank goodness that MLB orders these places to be fixed up. I can just imagine Barry Bonds showering after a game with an oil drum of water and a plastic cup.
Try to see the reasons for MLB instead of sitting back and calling them cowards. MLB is not even close to being right all of the time, but you should lose the chip on your shoulder that you have toward "American" baseball. Give your readers a chance to decide for themselves.
