Cheap Shot of the Day
This bush league cheap shot comes from Tom Fitzgerald of the San Francisco Chronicle: "Yankees right fielder Hideki Matsui, who used to dine with reporters when he played in Japan, wanted to get better acquainted with the writers covering the team, so he took nine of them to dinner. By picking up the tab, however, Matsui guaranteed that nobody will ever refer to him as "another Joe DiMaggio."
Quote of the Day
The quote of the day comes from CNN/SI's John Donovan, who offered, "Is there anything dumber than a spring training benches-clearing brawl? Florida's Brad Penny pitched Montreal's Vladimir Guerrero a little inside the other day and we almost had an international incident. Guerrero evidently was upset because it's the only pitch he's seen in the last three years that he couldn't take a swing at."
